Announcements

Grace Bible Baptist Church has been in existence since 1994. To God be the Glory, great things He hath done!

A History of Grace Bible Baptist Church

In July of 1994, Pastor & Mrs. Daku and their three older sons, Paul, Scot and Joel, arrived in Fiji. The group met for three years at the YWCA on Drasa Ave. The land on Bavadra Road was purchased in 1996. Two work teams from USA came in 1997 to assist the church men in the construction. The cement floor was poured just before Cyclone Gavin hit in March of 1997. Two weeks later the first work team arrived and in three week’s time, they took the building up to the roof. In May of that year, another team came for a week and completed more finishing work such as electrical and plumbing.

The first service was held in the new building in April of 1997 on the last Sunday night the first work team was in Fiji, with just a partial roof over our heads! Regular services began in the new church in June of 1997 when the building was also dedicated to the glory of God by a visiting pastor from USA. A nursery for babies was originally constructed across the back corner of the auditorium but was later taken out to make more room for people during services. Later the veranda was added and then the baby nursery outside.

Many people have heard the message of salvation and trusted Christ as Saviour through the ministries of Grace Bible Baptist Church: Golden Age Home, Soul-winning outreach, Children’s Bible Clubs, Jail ministry, Tracting, Hospital ministry, door-to-door visitation, men’s and ladies’ ministries, camp programme, and distribution of Bibles to all the school students of Fiji through the Fiji Bible Project. Many have taken the step of obedience and followed the Lord in baptism as an outward sign of their inward belief in Christ as Saviour and Lord. We have assisted in other church-planting efforts on Viti Levu as well as starting Solid Rock Baptist Church as a mission work of GBBC. Pastor and Mrs. Ravai are missionaries to Rotuma, sent out of our church.

Our church stands on the truths of God’s Word. We are a strong soul-winning, missionary-minded, separated (from the world and sin) church. Our goal is to make known the love of Christ and His gift of salvation, given in John 3:16, in the islands of Fiji, the South Pacific, and the world. We are looking for His soon return to receive unto Himself all those who have put their faith and trust in Him alone.

Pastor Paul Daku, Sr. is the founding pastor of Grace Bible Baptist Church. We as a church are grateful for the labors of Pastor & Mrs. Daku for the past 28 years and their efforts to lead many to the Lord and disciple them to follow and serve the Lord.

It is our prayer that the ministry of GBBC will continue strong until Jesus comes again. We pray that the members will be faithful to Him and to His local church here at 35 Bavadra Road. May the Lord find us faithful!

Our Mission & Vision

At GBBC our vision and mission is to reach people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ…

As followers of Jesus Christ, we believe our vision and mission is to obey the Lord Jesus and the Great Commission given to us in Matthew 28:18-20. In this passage we see four things we are to do as individuals who make up the church: 1. Go (with the Gospel) 2. Teach (the truths of the Word of God) 3. Baptize (as a public display of what Christ has done in a life) 4. Disciple (teaching God’s Word to those who will faithfully share it to others) Our goal is to help each person trust Christ and then grow in their relationship with Him. Come join our GBBC family!
